Happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day!
Today is a time to gain strength from a man and a movement that are still deeply relevant. We can learn so much from Dr. King, Coretta, Malcolm X and all of their peers. They courageously stared into the abyss of racism and projected the light of equality in its place. In a time where white supremacists storm the Capitol on the same day that a Black pastor from King’s church gets elected to the Senate, America exists in varying shades, some ugly and some inspiring.
We, the noble, must demand the best from our nation by being our best and holding those around us accountable. Dr. King had every reason to give up on true democracy in this country, yet he persisted. We are the embers that keep the torch of his legacy alive. Let us not grow faint or weary but walk in joy, peace, and wholeness as we tarry for JUSTICE!!!
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” -Isaiah 40:31
Colorfully,
