Welcome, Beautiful People! This is ColorFull Commentary, a podcast and companion website of the same name. We are the intersection of people of color and colorful people. We don't feel the need to explain the term people of color because we're hoping you all know that already! In regards to colorful people, we mean anyone who departs from society's norms, i.e. disabled, queer, economically disadvantaged, and/or institutionally disenfranchised. If you happen to identify with none of these, we still encourage you to listen in order to learn more about the world around you. We want to be a place where you can hear yourself AND the opinions of those who differ from you. We are developing a community here, and it can't happen without you! I am the host and curator of ColorFull Commentary.
Hmmm, I suppose this is the part where I tell you a bit about myself: I am "Young, Gifted, and Black"; and I happen to have a chronic illness. Needless to say, that description only provides the bare bones. I am also a daughter, a friend, an entrepreneur, a lover of Jesus, an admirer of Beyoncé, an engaged citizen, and a social justice advocate. Well dern, even that doesn't fully encapsulate me; but it's a start! As you listen to the podcast and read the blog, you will discover the many other facets that make me the woman that I am. But know this, I consider it a privilege and a joy to be the driving force behind such an inclusive and engaging platform.
